Ask your concierge for their ratio
The one comparison metric that tells you what you are buying.
Concierge services are unusually hard to compare. The websites all say the same things. The price, where it appears at all, ranges from two hundred and fifty euros a day to two hundred and ten thousand dollars a year. The service descriptions are interchangeable.
There is one number that cuts through it, and almost nobody publishes it.
Why it decides everything
Every promise a concierge makes is downstream of that ratio.
“A dedicated manager who knows you” is true at six members per manager. At sixty it is a description of a job title, not a relationship. A person carrying sixty families cannot hold sixty sets of preferences, sixty sets of allergies, sixty sets of the small irritations that make the difference. They will be reading a file, if there is one, while you are on the phone.
“Twenty-four seven” is meaningless without a ratio and a response standard. It usually means a rota, which means whoever is on shift, which means you explaining your file again.
“Unlimited requests” is only real if the person receiving them has the capacity to act on them.
What to ask, exactly
- How many members does one manager carry, at most?
- Is that a cap, or an average?
- What is your response standard, in minutes, and between which hours, in which time zone?
- If my manager is unwell in the middle of August, who picks up, and do they already know my file?
- How many members do you take in total each year?
The answers are more revealing than any brochure. A firm that will not give you a number does not have one it wants to say out loud.
Our answers
Six members to one manager, as a cap and not an average. Fifteen minutes, between eight in the morning and ten at night, Central European Time. On Riviera Private there is a named deputy who already holds the file. Twenty memberships in 2026, and when they are filled the list closes until 2027.
You can hold us to all five of those. That is rather the point of publishing them.
